I guess it wasn't the camera

In my last entry I said that I hadn't written much because I don't have a camera and therefore entries would be pictureless and boring.  I was wrong.  I bought a new camera about 3 weeks ago but still, no writing.  Turns out, I'm just lazy. It's not like nothings been going on.  I just went through a faze where I was motivationaly challenged.

There is no way I'll be able to recap the last couple of months, so I'll just randomly shoot out things as they come to mind.

The new camera is pretty spiffy.  It takes great pictures and great video.  We almost never break out our video camera because it's annoying to lug around and the batteries are never charged.  Now that we have this mini camera I've been shooting all kinds of video so expect to see some live action.

There was no summer solstice party this year.  I ended up going to Baltimore that week for work.  It was good trip.  I once again have a new boss.  The company I've been working for for the past 4.5 years has been growing like a weed and organizational structure keeps changing.  I've moved from the programmer team to the user interface team.  I'll be the guy who works with the designers and builds working prototypes.  Then I pass the prototypes on to the developers who implement everything.  I think I'll really like my part of the process.

We recently had an adventure building our fence.  I figured I could build one easy enough but I elected to hire someone with skill to do it so we'd have a nice looking fence built in a  few days instead of strewn out over many many weeks.  The first quote I got was almost $7,000.  I figured that was too rich for my blood.  After looking around for a while we found a guy who would build one for $3200.  That was more like what I had imagined.   To make a long story short, the guy ended up raising the quote to $4200 (including materials which I had to transport), then after the holes were drilled and supplies transported he canceled on me and I ended up having to do the job myself.  I'm glad though, cause I partially enjoyed the project and I think I did a bang up job.  As I had anticipated, there are still little finishings that need to be done, but that will come over the next couple weeks.

Mason and Porter continue to be awesome kids.  Mason is an excellent big brother.  Porter is starting to add to his vocabulary.  Most people have no idea what he's saying, but he's getting better every day.  He absolutlely loves to be included and he does his best to keep up.  We're trying to get him to gain weight but he's pretty stubborn.  I'm considering arranging an early marriage for the kid.  It seems like most guys get married and then put on 30 pounds.  Porter could use it.

This year we celebrated the first of July with my extended family (as usual).  It was a lot of fun.  I was excited to see that my uncle Darryl made some root beer almost as bad as the root beer I made a few years ago.  That made me feel good.  Now that I think of it.  Maybe he made it bad just to make me feel better.  Nobody will ever know.  The fireworks that Jay put on this year were absolutely spectacular.  I'm betting it was the largest private fireworks show that most people will ever watch.  He somehow manages to out do himself every year.  I even got some video footage of it with my nifty new camera!

That about sums it up.  This summer has been pretty nice so far.  It was about 35C degrees the other day which was borderline extreme, but I'm not going to complain.  I hope the nice weather persists.

as per your offereings of your 2nd born son to be betrowthed at a youung age. Perhaps we could arrange something.... My daughter is atleast an 8 cow woman, but I may consider an exchange for some of your newly found fence building skills if and when our house is ever completed.

Anyways. Its nice to see you posting again. What type of camera did you end up buying...?
