Two years ago today Elise and I had a big surprise. Porter decided to join the world on his own terms. Those terms were 2 months early and around 3am February 15th he decided to let us know it was time. It was a long day of course and it just kept getting longer. It was around 11pm that we started to clue into the fact that he was pretty sick. By the next morning we weren't too sure he was going to make it through the week.

Look at him now! 2 years old and growing. He's still a little guy but he's got big personality. We love having him around.

Tonight's celebration was pretty low key. We let the boys play at the play area in Market Mall and then joined up with The Wolff's and Leavitt's for dinner at the food court. Everyone got to eat what they liked and there was enough room for everyone to sit comfortably.

Porter made a killing. Talk about spoiled. I have half a mind to keep some of the presents wrapped and give them to him throughout the course of the year. ... (click here to read the rest)

Derek asked me in a comment a while back "Hey, when do we get our Happy New Year? What gives?"

I thought I would address this now since I've procrastinated way too long.  I was actually waiting to grab some pictures of Christmas from various digital cameras so that this entry would have some sweet pics to go along with it.  I know it's a little behind but here it goes.

Christmas was fun this year.  We slept over at the Leavitt's again.  They got their basement finished in their new house so it was pretty sweet.  It's really nice down there.  I'll snag a couple pics of it some time.  They put in a nice big LCD TV, pool table and ping pong table.  It's a total party place now.

Mason is at the age now where he gets really excited about Santa Clause and presents.  He wasn't disappointed on Christmas morning.  Porter had a fun time too.  Mason got a new train and Porter got a plane that he can sit on and drive around.  He loves it.

We ate our traditional Hutterite sausage brunch at my parents house.  It was so incredibly tasty.  Looking... (click here to read the rest)

I'm taking a holiday all this week.  It's been so awesome.  I'm trying to get a ton of stuff accomplished but things always end up taking way longer than I hope.  I'm trying to get something done right now, so I don't have time for any updates.  Mostly, I just wanted to archive the last bit of a chat I had with my brother Scott.  It's important for the world to see this with thier own eyes since this may not happen again for a long time.

Scott Wolff says:
hey, I just noticed the very first bookmark I added to my del.icio.us account was your blog

My brother got a sweet laptop a couple of weeks ago (MacBook Pro).  It has a built in camera and some funky software that makes some hilarious pictures.  We did took a few pictures with it and we were all busting up.  I actually fell on the floor a couple of times.  They were good enough that I felt compelled to post some of them here.  Enjoy.

I think I may have fixed a glitch with the photo upload mechanism.  The real test will be to try uploading a zip file (my app automatically unzips the file once it gets to the server and creates a photo collection out of the pictures).  If this works, I'll go to bed.  I'd really like it to work because I haven't been to bed before 3:30am in a couple of weeks.

I went through my digital photos and I realize I haven't taken any pictures since the beginning of the month.  That's pretty pathetic.  In order to test this feature, I had to rip off some pictures from my dad's site (www.robbandmarge.com).

Since I work for a US company I pretty much only take US holidays.  So late in November I took a 4 day weekend for US Thanksgiving.  Elise had it in her mind that she wanted to go down to the states to do some shopping.  I cringed a little because a) I don’t really care for shopping and 2) I know it’s pretty much the busiest time of year to shop in the states.   In any case, we packed up our stuff and drove down to Kalispell Montana.

The vacation was good.  It was cold, the roads were icy and the crowds were insane, but it was a nice break from computers, we had a great hotel and we ate tons of good food.  We invited my parents to join us.  It was nice to have them.  Elise and I have never really done anything like this with my parents in our (almost) six years of marriage.

I’m not sure my parent’s trip was quite as nice as they were expecting.  When they pulled into town my dad said he had noticed their car was acting funny.  After a very tasty dinner we determined he had blown the head gasket.  Since... (click here to read the rest)

I've noticed that Kev's been slacking on the posting as of late so I decided I'd let people in on what we've been doing around the Wolff house lately...
On Tuesday afternoon this week Mason and I took some one on one time and took off to good ol' Canadian Tire to look for some Christmas lights and decorations.  We decided on red outdoor lights this year.  Shopping for Christmas stuff really got me excited about the season and I just couldn't resist pulling out all of my Christmas decorations, which then led to setting up the tree.  I tried some of the new beads that I got on the tree to see how they would look, which lasted for maybe 30 seconds as Porter decided he wanted them more than the tree did...since then we've set the tree up and the outdoor lights and I'm starting to feel the excitment for the festivities surrounding Christmas.  I love the spirit of Christmas and the time that we get to spend with family.  It truely is a treasured time to me.  I'll post some pic's when I get the chance.

? Well, we have been slacking in our posts lately.  It seems hard to find the time to sit and focus for more than 5 minutes.  We had a fun holiday weekend down south in Hillspring for the annual Gibb family reunion.  Lots of food, fun and family made for a great time.  Kevin took Friday, Monday and Tuesday off (due to July 4th).  It was a well needed break.  Saturday was spent doing the usual Hillspring celebrations.  BBQ beef and homemade rootbeer.  Yum...Ending off with awesome fireworks provided by Jay Jenkins.  Kevin had a ton of fun lighting them off - it was great.  Monday was spent in Waterton relaxing.  It rained and hailed hard in the early evening which brought the day to a quick end.  We lazed and enjoyed the trip back to Calgary.  We finally did what Kevin says we have to do every time we drive to Southern Alberta.  We went to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump.  It was interesting - I'll give it that.  The boys were not at all entertained by the exhibition and made it a very stressful visit, but I'm glad that we fianlly did it and can mark that off our list of things to... Today is Mason's birthday.  He is three years old now.  Each phase of his life has been enjoyable but I really like this phase because he can talk very well and let us know what he's thinking.  There's a lot more interaction.  I took him out to Walmart at lunch to let him pick out a birthday present.  He picked one of those little multilevel car parking garage things.  It was cheap; in price and quality.  I had some model glue so I glued it all together and it's much more stable now.  Anyway… he likes it.

His party was pretty low key this year.  My family and Elise's family came for cake.  Elise's parents made an awesome Thomas the Train ice cream cake.  It was really tasty.  He got some other train related presents are really had a fun time.

After the party ended, Elise's cousin Rob and his wife Jolanda stopped by.  We haven't seen them in a really long time so it was nice to have them stop by.  We had a good visit.  They are expecting twins.  Good luck guys!  After Rob and Jo left we ordered in Swiss Chalet and vegged for a while.  The boys both passed out by 7 and Elise crashed around 9.  It's weird cause I have the night to myself.  Needless to say it was a great day for our family.
